Gallinophile profile : Mr. Van Cauwenberghe is a gallinophile by political choice. Van Cau has contributed to the Rooster's legalization as national emblem, after the Walloon region was formally created in the 1990’s. In his different public functions he has commissioned various rooster monuments and other works of art from Walloon artists.

Van Cauwenberghe is an avid rooster item collector. He recently organized the exhibit "Le Chant du Coq" (On the Rooster’s Chant), which is also the title of the book published at this occasion. In its first chapter Van Cauwenberghe relates the history of the adoption of the Coq Hardi as official Walloon emblem. It seems befitting that the collection of gallinacean armors bears the name of this outstanding gallinophile who has contributed so much to the rooster’s presence in international heraldry.
